“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

Starting and growing a business as a Christian entrepreneur comes with unique challenges. You want to honor God, serve with excellence, and build a profitable business—but sometimes, fear, doubt, and cultural pressures can get in the way.
The good news? You’re not alone. Many Kingdom-minded businesswomen face similar struggles, but when we recognize them, we can shift our mindset and move forward in faith.
Here are 3 common mistakes Christian entrepreneurs make—and how you can avoid them!
1️⃣ Trying to do it all in their own strength
One of the biggest mistakes Christian entrepreneurs make is operating from hustle instead of faith.
📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
When you rely only on your own effort, skills, and strategy—instead of surrendering your business to God—you quickly become exhausted, overwhelmed, and burned out.
💡 How to Avoid This Mistake:
✅ Start each workday with prayer and invite God into your business decisions.
✅ Release the pressure to control every outcome and trust God to open the right doors.
✅ Focus on stewardship, not striving—rest is a part of God’s plan for success!
🚨 Ask Yourself: Am I operating from hustle and stress, or am I allowing God to lead?
2️⃣ Undercharging (or Feeling Guilty About Making Money)
Many Christian entrepreneurs struggle with pricing their services confidently because they fear that making money is somehow “unspiritual” or selfish.
But here’s the truth: Your business is a tool for impact, and wealth is a resource for the Kingdom.
📖 Deuteronomy 8:18 (NIV) says:
“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant.”
God has given you gifts, skills, and strategies—not just for you, but to bless others. When you charge fairly for your work, you’re valuing the time, talent, and expertise God has placed in you.
💡 How to Avoid This Mistake:
✅ Recognize that money is a tool, not an idol—it’s how we create impact, serve well, and sustain growth.
✅ Price based on value, not fear—undercharging doesn’t make you more spiritual, it makes business unsustainable.
✅ Shift your mindset: You can be BOTH generous and profitable.
🚨 Ask Yourself: Am I shrinking back from financial growth because of fear or guilt?
3️⃣ Isolating Instead of Seeking Support
Entrepreneurship can feel lonely, but you weren’t meant to build your business alone.
📖 Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NLT) says:
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”
When Christian entrepreneurs try to do everything on their own, they often:
❌ Get stuck in overwhelm and indecision
❌ Struggle with self-doubt and discouragement
❌ Miss out on divine connections and opportunities
💡 How to Avoid This Mistake:
✅ Surround yourself with like-minded Christian entrepreneurs who share your values.
✅ Seek mentorship and coaching from those who have successfully walked this path.
✅ Get into community—you are strongest when you have Kingdom-minded support.
🚨 Ask Yourself: Who is speaking into my business journey? Do I have a faith-driven support system?

Dear God, Thank you for calling us into entrepreneurship and equipping us with everything we need to walk in obedience to that calling. We surrender our businesses to you, acknowledging that success is not found in our own strength but in your wisdom and guidance. Lord, help us to trust you with our businesses, our finances, and our growth.
We ask for discernment to avoid the mistakes that keep us from fully stepping into our purpose. Teach us to operate from faith, not fear. Strengthen our confidence to charge for the value we bring, knowing that you have given us the ability to create wealth. Surround us with the right people who will encourage and support us as we build Kingdom businesses that glorify you.
Lord, may we be bold, faith-filled entrepreneurs who steward our gifts well and serve others with excellence. Help us to always keep you at the center of everything we do, knowing that when we seek you first, everything else will fall into place. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
Remember, your business is not just about making a living—it’s about making an impact for the Kingdom. When you align your work with faith, wisdom, and the right support, you will see God’s favor and provision in ways you never imagined.
