It’s Time to SHIFT

" Faith motivated Abraham to obey God’s call and leave the familiar to discover the territory he was destined to inherit from God. So he left with only a promise and without even knowing ahead of time where he was going, Abraham stepped out in faith.— Hebrews 11:8 (TPT)

Change is a constant in life, but there are moments when God distinctly calls us to make a significant shift. It can be daunting, especially when the full path is unclear. However, these pivotal moments require faith and prompt obedience. Over the years, I have learned the importance of responding to God’s call without delay and trusting Him even when I don't fully understand the journey ahead.

"Faith motivated Abraham to obey God’s call and leave the familiar to discover the territory he was destined to inherit from God. So he left with only a promise and without even knowing ahead of time where he was going, Abraham stepped out in faith" — Hebrews 11:8 (TPT)

This verse about Abraham’s obedience highlights his willingness to trust God’s plan, despite having no clear picture of the outcome. His faith led him to move quickly, setting a powerful example for us.

I can relate to this in so many ways. Being in ministry has resulted in us moving to different states on several occasions. I know what it's like to move only because God said so. And every time, the reward far outweighed the risk. This doesn't just apply to physical moves, it applies to every area of our lives and everything we are connected to in this season of our lives. When God says SHIFT, it's time to SHIFT.

When God calls us to shift, we need to take action immediately. Delaying our response can mean missing out on divine opportunities and the blessings that come with obedience. Often, we wait to see the full picture before we act, but faith requires us to do what we know to do today. Take small steps of faith in alignment with God’s instructions, even if they don’t seem to make sense at the moment.

Our human instinct is to seek understanding before we move forward. However, when it comes to God's instruction, trust must supersede our need for clarity. Embracing this can lead to supernatural growth and unexpected blessings.

Making a faith-driven shift not only impacts our own lives but also those around us. It demonstrates a powerful testimony of divine trust and can inspire others to listen and act on God’s call in their lives.

Have you ever felt a distinct call from God to make a shift in your life? What held you back or pushed you forward? What practical steps can you take today, trusting in God’s guidance, even if the full path isn’t clear? How can trusting God more deeply impact your decision-making process?

These are things I encourage you to think about and journal. Identify one area in your life where you sense God calling you to make a change. Commit to taking one step this week, even if it’s small. Spend time in prayer each day asking for courage and clarity to make the shift God is calling you towards.

I encourage you to share your stories and experiences inside of The Live Love Lead Community. Your story could provide the encouragement someone else needs to make their own faithful move.

Dear God, give us the boldness to move when You call and the faith to trust Your path, even when it’s not fully clear to us. Strengthen our hearts to embrace the shifts You guide us into, knowing that Your plans are perfect and Your timing is flawless. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
