Your Business is a Calling: Embracing Your Kingdom Assignment

Writer: April Nicole ScipioApril Nicole Scipio

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”  — Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT)

For many Christian women, the idea of combining faith and business can feel confusing. Can a business truly honor God? Is it okay to desire success? Does making money contradict Kingdom values? If you’ve ever wrestled with these questions, you’re not alone.

The truth is, your business is a calling. It’s not just about products, services, or making a living—it’s about stewardship, impact, and obedience to what God has placed in your hands.

Your business is more than a job—it’s a ministry. Many people think of ministry as something that only happens inside the church—preaching, worship leading, or mission work. But the marketplace is one of the greatest mission fields we have!

📖 Colossians 3:23-24 (NLT) reminds us:

“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”

This means that every business deal, every client interaction, and every product or service you create is an opportunity to glorify God and serve others well. Your business is not separate from your faith—it’s an extension of it.

God has uniquely equipped you for this assignment. You might be thinking: “But I’m not an expert.” or, “Who am I to lead, teach, or sell anything?” Let me remind you: God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called.

When Moses doubted himself, God reassured him:

“Now go! I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”Exodus 4:12 (NIV)

Just like Moses, God has already equipped you with the gifts, skills, and vision needed to step into your God-given assignment—your business. Your business is not just a dream—it’s a divine assignment.

Success in business does NOT mean compromising your faith. Some Christian women fear that seeking success in business means they will be seen as money-driven, prideful, or less spiritual. But success in business is not about worldly status—it’s about Kingdom impact.

God desires for you to prosper in every area of your life, including your business.

📖 Deuteronomy 8:18 (NIV) says:

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant.”

Wealth—when stewarded correctly—is a tool for impact. It allows you to:

✅ Serve your clients with excellence

✅ Give generously and support Kingdom initiatives

✅ Create jobs and opportunities for others

✅ Break generational cycles of struggle and lack

Success in business isn’t about compromising your faith—it’s about walking in obedience to God’s plans for you.

What’s holding you back?

If you’ve been hiding, playing small, or doubting your ability to be a faith-driven entrepreneur, I want you to ask yourself:

👉🏾 What if your business is the answer to someone’s prayer?

👉🏾 What if your obedience unlocks someone else’s breakthrough?

👉🏾 What if God is waiting for you to say YES so He can move?

Beauty, your business is bigger than you. It’s time to fully embrace your calling, own your identity, and step out in faith.

Let’s take the next step—together!

I know the journey of faith-driven entrepreneurship can feel overwhelming. That’s why I’m creating a space for Christian women entrepreneurs to grow their businesses without compromising Kingdom principles.
