Your Vision Requires Development

"When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the Word, heaven's bliss fills your soul." — Proverbs 29:18 (TPT)

It's great to have a God-inspired vision. Now, the next important step is to take your vision and nurture and develop it. Just as a seed requires soil, water, and sunlight to grow, a vision—especially one inspired by God—requires development, patience, and the right conditions to flourish. Many of us receive a vision with excitement. However, without the necessary commitment to development, it will most like remain just a dream. When we take practical steps to develop our vision, there is a greater opportunity for it to mature into its full potential.

This verse not only highlights the necessity of having a vision but also ties the success of that vision to being obedient to what God tells you—His wisdom and guidance. It reminds me that a vision must be grounded in spiritual principles to succeed.

A vision from God is not a static picture; it is a dynamic blueprint that requires continual alignment with God’s Word and His principles. Reflecting on how your vision aligns with God’s principles is crucial in nurturing its growth.

The first step in developing your vision is to commit to a path of lifelong learning. This means being open to new insights, willing to adjust your strategies, and ready to adapt to changing circumstances—all while staying aligned with your core values and your faith in Christ Jesus.

Here are some practical steps for development:

1. Set Clear Goals: Break down your vision into manageable, specific goals. This makes the broader vision more attainable and provides clear markers of progress.

2. Seek Mentorship: Engaging with mentors who share your values and have experience in areas relevant to your vision can provide guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to help steer your efforts.

3. Regular Evaluation: Regularly assess the progress of your vision against your set goals. This helps in recognizing achievements and identifying areas needing adjustment.

4. Community Engagement: Share your vision with a community that supports your values. Feedback and collaboration can provide different perspectives and opportunities for growth.

I have one final thought. Development often involves overcoming obstacles. It serves us well to view these challenges as opportunities to strengthen and clarify our vision. This has been essential in my life. Every challenge faced and overcome is a step closer to the fulfillment of your vision.

Take some time to reflect:

1. What specific area of your vision needs more development?

2. How can you incorporate regular evaluations into your process to ensure continual growth?

3. Are you ready to utilize The Live Love Lead Community and/or April's mentorship to support for your vision?

Development is work, but it is worth the work. Identify one key area this week where your vision needs development and outline specific actions to address it. Schedule a monthly review session in your calendar to assess progress and make necessary adjustments.

Dear God, we ask for your guidance as we develop the visions you’ve placed in our hearts. Give us the wisdom to learn, the strength to face challenges, and the perseverance to see our visions grow and to experience them. Help us to always align our ambitions with your will. In Jesus' name, AMEN.

By understanding that a vision requires active development, embracing continuous learning, and engaging with a supportive community, we ensure that our God-given visions have the best chance to succeed and make a meaningful impact.
